  PARENT REQUIREMENTS
 

 

Age of Parents:
25-50 years old in general; may be older if considering children 8+.

Other Children:
May have other children in family.

U.S. Citizenship:
One parent must be a U.S. citizen.

Marriage:
Single women and married couples are accepted.

Travel:
Both parents are required to travel. They will spend approximately 4 weeks in Ukraine. Families are escorted throughout the process. One parent may return home after appearing in court; 2 trips may be required.

Age:
Children are eligible for adoption after the age of 14 months. Most children will be 3 years old and older. Sibling groups are also frequently in need of placement.

Health:
The children live in orphanages, are generally healthy and are most often developmentally delayed.


  TIMING
 

Referral:
Approximately 3-6 months following submission of dossier, families will get an invitation to travel to receive child referral information in Kiev. Parents will then travel to the child's region to accomplish court proceedings after meeting the child at the orphanage.

Travel:
Travel occurs approximately 2 months after invitation to come to Ukraine.


  COST
 

International Program Administration Fee. (Review home study and documents; assistance/coordination of dossier; translations; program consultation; telephone, fax, mailing fees and International relief/program development)

Ukraine Foreign Fee, payable in 2 installments. (Fees to orphanage and local government administration).

  OTHER FEATURES
